  • Landing Silver and Gold - Woodland Trust award

Thu 08 Dec 2022 Mr John Howe

We have secured another donation of trees in the new year and a date will be set for planting them.
The children involved in this project will be donning their wellies and along with a parent/carer will aim to transform an area of perimeter into a hedgerow.
We look forward to seeing our ‘woodland’ grow.
As a result of this and our ongoing work, we have secured the Woodland Trust's Green Tree School - Silver and Gold Award in one swoop.

  • International Schools Award

Tue 06 Dec 2022 Mr John Howe

We are very pleased to have been awarded the Intermediate level for the International School Award. This is recognition of our commitment to embedding an international and dimension to our curriculum and whole-school ethos. Madame Blackett has been leading the development of this area of our school, creating excellent learning opportunities and developing our learning relationships both locally and globally.
The awards assessor said, "You are clearly committed to developing an international dimension to your curriculum and whole-school ethos, promoting global citizenship, an appreciation for cultural diversity, and motivation to learn foreign languages. Your link with a school in France is already supporting your MFL teaching and learning, enabling children to learn first-hand about France and aspects of its culture, as well as promoting opportunity for inter-cultural comparative study, thus providing an authentic and motivating context for the language learning element."

  • Well done Mr Ashton

Sun 04 Dec 2022 Mr John Howe

A huge well done to our Yr 5 teacher and PE lead, Mr Ashton, who has returned after representing Team GB in the World Triathlon Championships in Abu Dhabi.

Mr Ashton is living proof of the maxim, "If you can't see it, you can't be it." and is a great role model to our pupils.

We encourage our children to dream big and Mr Ashton has done just that.
