Behaviour

Our vision is that every child at Seaburn Dene Primary School feels safe, happy and has an aspiration for their learning. This is the result of a rich and varied curriculum driven by excellent teaching and access to a wealth of exciting, challenging and motivating opportunities. All children will come to a safe and inclusive school, where everyone is celebrated for who they are and what they want to be.

Promoting values

All members of the Seaburn Dene family need to promote and adhere our values: respect, kindness, determination and aspiration.

We are all expected to show respect and kindness to one another. We celebrate good manners, honesty and a determination to work hard. We are committed to fostering an environment where children are happy, confident, independent and have the aspiration to be the very best they can be.

Our School Rules

The school has three school rules which the pupils, parents, staff and visitors are expected to follow at all times and in all circumstances:

The School Rules

Ready, Respectful, Kind.

Rewards

Pupils will be rewarded through positive recognition, either individually or as a class, for consistently following the school rules and setting a positive example to those around them.

Rewarding pupils at Seaburn Dene Primary School is carried out via:

  • Celebrating praise of an individual or whole class using positive verbal comments.
  • Sharing good work with other staff or classes.
  • Sharing good work with the Headteacher or other senior leaders.
  • Sharing good work with parents, via phone calls home.
  • Promoting good work through Class Dojo, Twitter or the weekly headteachers' newsletter.
  • Each teacher will choose one pupil a week to receive the Values Certificate linked to our school values. Class Dojo certificates are also  awarded to those children who demonstrate one of the school's four core values. Whole class rewards are achieved through consistently good attendance.
  • Golden Table (Dine and Shine) award is given for exemplary manners and behaviour at lunchtime.
