Introduction

At Seaburn Dene, we value art and design as an important part of the children’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. Inspired by our schools drivers we want our children to think and act as artists, use their imaginations and develop and extend their skills whilst having the opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas. We also aim for them to understand how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation. At Seaburn Dene, Art and Design is accessible to all: we give every child the opportunity to take part in a variety of challenges.

Curriculum Map: Year 1-6

Children are taught specific art skills in modules each half term as set out below:
