  • Anti-Bullying Week - Reach Out

Mon 14 Nov 2022 Mr John Howe

At Seaburn Dene Primary School we are United Against Bullying and take any form of bullying very seriously. We deal with the issues of bullying in many different ways including, as part of our Safeguarding and RSHE curriculum, our assemblies and through the Anti-bullying and internet safety days that occur during the year. The school has a robust Anti-Bullying Policy and implements it consistently across the school.

This year, we are supporting Anti-Bullying Week and it's key message - Reach Out - to trusted adults, friends to put a stop to bullying. Our children showed their support today by wearing odd socks and fun hair to show their uniqueness.

The definition of bullying at Seaburn Dene Primary School is taken from the Anti-Bullying Alliance:

"The repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face to face or through cyberspace."

Our school Anti-Bullying Team have now set all our children a challenge - design a poster to promote this year's message of "Reach Out" to display in school.

The poster can be in A4 or A5. If children need paper, they can ask their class teacher.
Their entry can be hand drawn, but should be colourful and bold with the message about "Reach Out".

Categories: Yrs 1-3 and Yrs 4-6.

Entries to my office by 9am on Friday. The winners will be selected by the Anti-Bullying Team and announced in Friday's Celebrate Success Assembly.

    Let's get creative!
