Wed 18 May 2022 Mr John Howe

Seaburn Dene's Jubilee Party is taking place next Friday, May 27th with an outdoor picnic and a range of jubilee themed activities.

During that week, we are holding a Jubilee Bake-Off competition, for children (with a little help from their adults) to enter. Judging will take place on Wednesday, May 25th by Mr Graham Turnbull, owner of Edinburgh Bakery in Fence Houses.

The entry form and recipes for all age groups will be shared on each class page on Class Dojo. Should you have problems printing the entry form please ask at the school office and we will be happy to help you.

    Good luck and happy baking!

  • Rugby Cluster Competition Winners

Tue 17 May 2022 Mr John Howe

Well done Y5 in the Cluster Tag Tournament at Monkwearmouth Academy. Seaburn Storm were overall winners, while Seaburn Sharks came third. Outstanding effort in a new sport to top a tournament featuring Dame Dorothy, Redby and Southwick. Great growth mindset.

  • Walk To School Week

Fri 13 May 2022 Mr John Howe

    Dear Parent/Carer,
Our school is taking part in Walk to School Week (16-20 May). The nationwide event is organised by walking charity Living Streets and designed to help pupils experience first-hand the importance of walking to school. Children will be well on their way to reaching their recommended 60 minutes minimum of physical activity per day before even reaching the school gates! Not only will it set them up for a positive day in the classroom, but it will also help create healthy habits for life.
This year’s challenge, #PowerUp, will engage pupils through video game-inspired design, encouraging them to travel sustainably to school every day of the week.
Each pupil will be challenged to travel sustainably (walk, wheel, scoot, cycle or Park and Stride) to school every day for one week with journeys logged each day.
Each class will work collectively to make as many active journeys to school as possible across the week. We will celebrate this with end of week pupil rewards which will reinforce the benefits and keeping children engaged.
What do I need to do as a parent/carer?
We would ask, if possible, to make arrangements so that your child/children can travel actively to school next week, helping our school reduce congestion and pollution around the school gates.
In return, your child will earna special badge! Walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling all count!
If you live far away from school and need to drive or take public transport, try parking the car or hopping off the bus/train ten minutes away and walking the rest of the journey.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
    Mr John Howe
