    Colour Run

Due to the potential NEU strike days next week, we have made the decision to adjust the event schedule to ensure the smooth running of the Colour Run.
As you may know, strikes are unpredictable, and we cannot preempt the decision to strike or not. Therefore, to avoid any potential disruption to the event, we have rescheduled the Seaburn Dene Colour Run to take place between Monday, 3rd July and Wednesday, 12th July, with the children completing as many laps as possible, daily, in the run up to the 12th July.
The main event, the Colour Run itself, will now be held on Wednesday, 12th July between 1.45pm and 3.15pm. To accommodate the different age groups, we have divided the run into two sessions. EYFS/Key Stage 1 will be the early runners, expected to finish their run around 2.30pm (Year 1) and released to parents if possible, more information will follow about these arrangements. Following them, Key Stage 2 children will finish their run around 3.15pm. We believe this arrangement will allow each group to have their moment and enjoy the event to the fullest.
We are delighted to announce that a tuck shop will be available during the event, open from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on the school yard. This will provide an opportunity for both parents and children to enjoy some refreshments and snacks before and after the main event.
We understand that this change of dates may require adjustments to your schedules, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, we believe that rescheduling the event is in the best interest of everyone involved, as it allows us to ensure a successful and uninterrupted Seaburn Dene Colour Run experience for our children.
Your support and encouragement are vital in making this event memorable for our children. We kindly request that you still make every effort to be available and join us in cheering your children on (with water guns!) as they complete this exciting and memorable occasion. Your presence will undoubtedly boost their confidence and make them proud of their achievements.
We will be providing further updates and information regarding the Seaburn Dene Colour Run as we approach the new dates. Sponsorship forms are available for all children from school and have been distributed. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. We are always here to assist you.
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support in making the Seaburn Dene Colour Run a success. We look forward to celebrating this event with you and our incredible pupils.

  • Sports Day

    Thu 29 Jun 2023

A huge thank you to everyone who made today's Sports Day a fantastic success. It really was a team effort, from Nursery to Year 6, and the result was the smiles on our children's faces. Every penny raised will go towards whole school projects which will benefit every child at Seaburn Dene.
While Sports Day is definitely a red letter day in the calendar, with everyone pulling together, some special thanks go to:
Mrs Youern and Mrs Baker for their organisational and fundraising expertise.
Mr Ashton for his skills in pulling the whole day together.
Mrs Wilson and the Early Years team for their steps clocked up and enthusiasm.
Mr and Mrs Baxter for supporting our school with Laser Tag.
Mrs Bannister for cakes and scones galore.
    THANK YOU.

Sun 25 Jun 2023 Mr John Howe

    OPAL Play survey
    Dear Parents/Carers,
Our school recognises the value of quality playtime experiences for all our children.
To acknowledge this, we are embarking on a new programme called OPAL ' Outdoor Play and Learning' and over the next 18 months- 2 years which will be looking to develop and reimagine our outdoor space and the play opportunities we offer.
As part of this process, we will be listening to all those involved; children, staff, parents and our Governing board.
In order to help us, we would like to understand what you think of your children's play/lunchtimes; find out a little bit about your own play experiences as a child and listen to any ideas you may have for improving play at our school. We will be asking the children and staff too.
Please click on the link to complete the parental version of the questionnaire:

    https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SQFRLQX
This questionnaire will be available until the end of term.
Thank you for your continued support,
    Mr John Howe

  • WOW Travel Tracker challenge for June

Sun 11 Jun 2023 Mr John Howe

Whole School Travel Tracker Challenge. Can we be the Top School in Tyne and Wear, the North East or even the UK?
It’s week one of June’s WOW Top Ten challenge and it’s great to see so many pupils recording their journeys to school on the WOW Travel Tracker.
However, we need to have a real push by everyone making as many sustainable, active journeys to school this month as possible.
For parents who drive, parking a little further away from school and walking in with your child, counts towards their active journey and their badge for June. It will also help us climb the leaderboard.
As you can see, we have our work cut out, with a slow start to the June challenge, but as our school vision reminds us...WE can always be that little bit better!

Please send your photographs of you and your child making an active journey to school this month. These will be featured in our Friday assembly and on Class Dojo. They can be sent to admin@seaburndeneprimary.co.uk marked "June Travel Tracker."
