On Thursday 15th June the annual school Sports Day took place. At the beginning of the day, the Back to Basics dog team set a very high standard of agility and discipline to launch this full day of sport. Once on the field, the bell rang at 10.30am to signal the start of the carousel and cricket competitions. Dressed in their house colours, the determination on the faces of children to, not only do their very best, but enjoy the activities set the tone of the day. Mr. Ashton had done a superb job in the way he organised us so that everything went like clockwork. We even laughed out loud at the antics of pairs of friends fighting each other on the Gladiator inflatable. During the afternoon we admired the brave children who demonstrated resilience as they struggled with sacks, skipping ropes and long distances but who were determined to cross the finish line.
Thank you to the hundreds of family members who joined us for a memorable day. Thanks also to the teaching staff, Friends of the School and kitchen staff for doing all those things that just seem to happen. We salute you all!
