Welcome Back

Dear Parents and Carers,
It was wonderful to finally welcome everyone back to school today after the six weeks holiday. A particular highlight was meetings the new members of our school family, both in our Early Years classes and across the school.
The school grown ups have been in school making sure that everything is ready, with a little extra work needed after a huge window replacement programme and £20,000 STEM Science Zone development.
The first week will focus on settling back into school and making a confident start to the new school year, with lots of exciting activities planned for the children.
Thanks for your patience at the end of the school day. We were simultaneously hit by an area-wide power cut, the torrential rain, Tour of Britain road closures, which led to the need to move the children from the yard as quickly as possible. Please ensure your child has a coat in school, gloves and a hat for colder days ahead. We often go outside for play in wet weather - today being the exception.

General Reminders:
*Please ensure that all uniform is named clearly.
*Remember that we promote healthy eating snacks at break times- no sweets or chocolate bars. Packed lunches should also provide a healthy balance of food. We are a nut free school. Please do not send your child into school with any item containing nuts.
*Pupils should have a named water bottle in school each day.
*No jewellery. Earrings should be plain studs and the children should be able to take them out themselves. Hair accessories should be in keeping with school uniform colours.
*Clubs - a letter will be going out next week, regarding clubs on offer this Autumn term.
*Please check your houses for any school books that may not have been returned before the summer.

We are all looking forward to a great year ahead and we welcome all the new children and families starting with us this year.
