We are into the last week of the half term and I'm sure your children are ready for a break now. It's caught them all by surprise just how 'fast' a pace we have worked at to try and get back into normality and routine after the last 18 months of disruption.
Reminder: This Friday is an INSET day, children are not in school.
Weekly COVID update: 3 new cases over the last week. This should serve as a reminder why it is so important to test your children if they develop cold-type symptoms to avoid it spreading to others.
If a pupil has any of the three main symptoms of Covid-19, even if they are mild, they should self-isolate straight away and get a PCR test.
The symptoms are:
*a high temperature
*a new, continuous cough
*a loss or change to their sense of smell or taste.
If a pupil is asked to get a PCR test if they are identified as a close contact by NHS Test and Trace, they may continue to come to school until they get the result of their PCR test back. If a child lives with someone who has tested positive, they should continue to come to school, but book a PCR test as a close contact. They do not have to self isolate while awaiting the results of a PCR test unless they have the symptoms outlined above.
However, if a child shows symptoms and has been asked to/or is taking a PCR test, as a result of this, they must self-isolate straight away and share the results of the PCR test with school before returning (if negative.) If positive the self-isolation period of 10 days applies.
