Sorry the bulletin's late but ...........

...........we're trying to squeeze eight weeks work into 23 days! What a frantic half term this is for staff, yet it is vibrant and exciting with so much wonderful learning for our children.

Netball

Last week our school became the second primary netball team in Sunderland, a remarkable achievement for such a small school. Mrs Smith was floating on air, being very proud of each of her players. Next we will represent Sunderland at Northumbria University in the regional tournament. Everything is possible-keep your Growth Mindset attitude and Go Team Seaburn.

Chris Lloyd-What On Earth Books

Yesterday, author Chris Lloyd spent the day with us and he was absolutely brilliant. His workshops celebrated the works of William Shakespeare and, with picking of themes of comedies, tragedies and history, we all soon began to spot the ghosts, romance and monarchs in Shakespeare's plays.

Chris has a fascinating website with quizzes, competitions and amazing facts so here is the link https://www.whatonearthbooks.com/about/ then go into the Activities pages. We will also be running our own What On Earth Quizzes too.

The Friends of the School

The Friends of Seaburn Dene Primary School work tirelessly to provide activities and funds for your children. This term they have provided the finance to have stage lights installed in the hall, which will enhance all the plays we perform, whether the Key Stage 1 Christmas plays or Drama Club productions. They have also helped us to finance some of the visitors this term too. On behalf of the children, parents and staff let's applaud their work and show our gratitude to all the work they put into our school.

Friday Drop-in

On Friday at 2.30pm you are invited into school to see some of the work we have been doing on Shakespeare and Dickens. We will begin in the main hall with classes taking turns with a short recital or song, then you can visit classrooms. We look forward to seeing you then.

Wimbledon Star in the Making...

Chloe from Year 2 has been invited to a tennis training camp with Mike Woods, the under 10 national tennis coach. She was spotted whilst attending the county tennis fun day. Well done Chloe.
