Secondary School Transition Cancelled
Dear Parent/Carer,
I have been informed by Monkwearmouth Academy that their planned Y7 transition fortnight, starting on Monday, July 5th has been cancelled - due to the increase in Covid cases in the city and following advice from Sunderland Public Health.
I am sure that the children (and others whose transitions to various secondary schools have also been cancelled) will be disappointed. However, we view the opportunity as a positive - in that we get to spend more time with our Y6 class - before they leave on what is traditionally the end of term: Friday, July 16th.
Mrs Houston will be writing to our Y6 parents about arrangements for the Leavers' Event on Friday. Please note, we are operating a strict protocol around social distancing between household bubbles - we must be adhered to for this event to take place.
