So Much To Do, So Little Time!

Note Perfect Performance

On Friday the school choir took part in the celebrations at St. Peter's Church. Revd Child has praised the children, judging their performance to be superb, especially as they had three of the most difficult songs to sing. Angel's gran telephoned me this morning to describe them as "perfecto". The choir's behaviour is always outstanding so we would like to thank the members for giving up their lunch hours to become note perfect.

New Teacher in School

The children in Year 5 are very excited today as Miss Bliss has joined us for three days. She will soon get to know the children, their capabilities and characters so that when we return in September she is up and running from day 1. Welcome Miss Bliss.

Intensive Training for Staff

This week Mr Smith and Mr Ashton will be in Wakefield for two days being trained for the introduction of Singapore maths into our school. On our training day (the first day of the Summer holidays) we are all being trained in Reciprocal Reading in preparation for the new term and the higher standards set for all year groups from September 2015. Basically, children are expected to work at the equivalent of a level higher than previously set for each year group so, as a staff, we are working very hard on our own development to ensure the best possible opportunities for the children.

Take One Picture Book Showcase

Come along next Thursday afternoon (16th) between 2.30pm and 3.00pm to hear all about our Take One Picture Book project. The children will proudly explain their work and perform for you.
