Children's Mental Health Week

Dear Parents,

I hope all of you are well and that your children are safe, happy and enjoying the home learning provided by their class teachers. I have seen some fantastic work from our children and have shared with staff, some of the lovely comments and emails from yourselves. It has also been uplifting to connect again with most of our children on the live teaching/assemblies. We really miss everyone.

There is so much going on in the world at the moment that is outside our control, but what we know - without a shadow of a doubt - is that our children are doing their very best. They are missing out on coming to school, seeing their friends and spending time in the classroom with their teachers, but still get up each day, full of enthusiasm ready to tackle their remote learning. They really epitomise one of our school values: determination. We are all so proud of them here at Seaburn Dene.

This week is Children's Mental Health Week and we will be posting throughout the week to promote this. I look forward to Friday and seeing how everyone (at home and school) chooses to "Express Yourself.."
The mental health and well being of our children is so important more now, than ever before. We can't have all the children in school during this national lockdown, but we are here and if you or your child need any support please get in touch and we will do everything we can to help.

As I mentioned, the theme for this year's Children's Mental Health Week is "Express Yourself". This is a chance for children to dress to express their personalities from their favourite colour to their favourite pastime. Friday is a chance for them all to share this even during our Celebration Assemblies.

Please look out for the messages from your class teacher and myself on live learning and updates.

Take care and have a lovely week.

Mr Howe.
