The Friends of Seaburn Dene Primary School charity was established to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to become more involved with the school and to help raise funds to enhance the education and experience of all children in the school.
What do we do?
Every year the Friends organise fantastic fundraising events, including:
All of the events are planned by Friends, run by Friends and designed to be fun for everyone involved as well as raising as much as possible for the charity which is 100% used to fund things that the school simply could not afford.
What have we achieved so far?
From 2009 to 2019 the Friends purchased over £20,000 of equipment, IT, books and experiences for the School.
In 2020 the group really had to work hard to work more creatively since our usual methods of fundraising were hindered by the pandemic. We are thrilled to say though that through the help of the Friends Group we have almost reached our incredible £10,000 target for the year and, if reached, will have been able to provide the school with an outside maze area in the Foundation Stage yard, the creation of a Nature/Woodland area within school grounds (both already paid for), and a Ball Wall for the Key Stage 2 yard (our final goal).
2021/22 Fundraising Campaigns will be decided on in the new academic year and we welcome all ideas.
How can you get involved?
Membership is totally free and as a parent/guardian of a child at Seaburn Dene Primary School you are automatically a member of the Friends.
We would like to encourage everyone with connections to the School to become as involved as you can with our activities and fundraising. We realise that attending committee meetings isn't possible for everyone; however, if you would be willing to help at events, supply prizes or help behind the scenes then we would love to hear from you – everyone’s skills and passions are welcomed.
Since 2020 we have moved our meetings online and currently use virtual meeting software ZOOM. The details of the meeting are posted on our Facebook Group every term. If you are not on Facebook but would like to be invited you can get the link from Sheena Baker on reception.

The Friends of the School. Seaburn Dene Primary School Facebook Group is now open!
We hope this will be a useful tool, not only to keep parents informed of what the Friends Group are working on, but also to allow parents to speak to each other regarding school life,
The group is 'closed' which means that only those people with a genuine connection to the school will be allowed to join, and all posts will be monitored to ensure that the page is not being misused or inappropriate comments being posted.
50P MIX UPS
The Friends Group are offering a 50p Sweet Mix Up on the last Friday of every month (or nearest day if we are off on the Friday). Children should bring the money into school on or before the Tuesday and they will receive their sweets at home time on the Friday.
The next Mix Up day will be Wednesday 19th October (inset training day on the Friday), with money to be in by Tuesday morning, 18th October. Orders will not be accepted on the Wednesday.
