The Friends of Seaburn Dene Primary School is the name for the parent teacher association at our school. It was established to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to become more involved with the school and to help raise funds to enhance the education and experience of all children in the school.
Every year the Friends organise fantastic events, including:
What do we do it for?
In the past the Friends have purchased reading station chairs, computers and outdoor equipment.
How can you get involved?
As a parent of a child at Seaburn Dene Primary School you are automatically a member of the Friends - which was set up in 2008 - and we would like to encourage any parents to become as involved as you can with our activities and fundraising. We realise that attending committee meetings isn't possible for everyone; however, if you would be willing to help at events, supply prizes or help behind the scenes then we would love to hear from you.
Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings which we have every term to discuss events that we can run, and other fund raising ideas. Our main events are Christmas Fayre, Easter Coffee Afternoon and Sports Day but we also run smaller events eg. discos at different times during the school year.
Our nominated Officers are: Chairperson - Mrs Cheryl Dawson (Parent)
Treasurer - Mrs Deborah Harrison (Ex Parent)
Secretary - Mrs Sheena Baker (Staff)
Please contact the school office if you wish further information.
JOIN US ON FACEBOOK!
We are always looking for ways to keep parents informed of what we are up to, and have set up a Facebook page called Friends of the School. Seaburn Dene Primary School. We hope this will be a useful tool, not only to keep parents informed of what the Friends Group are working on, but also to allow parents to speak to each other regarding school life eg. what homework the class has that week, when is a trip to be paid for etc. This page will be a 'closed' page which means that only those people with a genuine connection to the school will be allowed to join, and all posts will be monitored to ensure that the page is not being misused or inappropriate comments being posted.

The Friends Group are offering a 50p Sweet Mix Up on the last Friday of every month (or nearest day if we are off on the Friday). Children should bring the money into school on or before the Tuesday and they will receive their sweets at home time on the Friday.
The next Mix Up day will be Wednesday 19th October (inset training day on the Friday), with money to be in by Tuesday morning, 18th October. Orders will not be accepted on the Wednesday.
29th September 2017
Today the Friends and their helpers from Yr 5, donned wellies (and waterproofs) to tidy up the Foundation Stage Garden area. Despite battling with the drizzle, it has been totally transformed so now looks neat and organised. Thank you to the volunteers for their generosity of time.
