Foundation Stage Unit

Early Years Curriculum

We hope the information provided in the documents below allows you to be more informed and involved with your child's learning and progress on a day to day basis.

The children follow the EYFS curriculum throughout the foundation stage (Nursery and Reception).

The key skills and experiences are achieved by following a range of themes and topics that are often inspired by children's interests, and change over time, as children grow in their thirst for knowledge.

By the end of the Reception year the children are expected to achieve the ELG's (Early Learning Goals).

However, some children will not reach the expected levels and will be 'Emerging' in their learning.

Others will achieve beyond the ELG's and will be 'Exceeding' in their learning and development.
