Seaburn Dene 0 Hastings Hill 3
Seaburn Dene 1 - Farringdon 2
Seaburn Dene lost against Town End 0-2 last week. A very tight game. Everyone gave one hundred percent and no-one, at any point, let their heads drop. We continue to hover around mid-table in Division C.
Seaburn Dene, having not known the rules of basketball a year ago, are now the champions of Sunderland! Mr Traves, along with Team Loaded, will be continuing their hard work, as the team prepare for the 'Champions of champions' event, where they will play teams from around the region.
The Newcastle Eagles Basketball team joined Y5/6 for the afternoon. Fab, OJ, Dre, and Joe talked to the children about healthy living, healthy teeth and the importance of keeping active. Y5/6 even got the chance to practise their dribbling skills with one of the Eagles! Lots of prizes were handed out and a lot of children are now inspired to play more basketball and go to some of the games.
The seaburn swimmers swam their way to 3rd place at the cluster schools Swimming Gala. Well done all swimmers and divers in Year 5/6.
A good effort from our Y6 athletics team as they took 3rd place at the indoor athletics cluster competition. Great determination from all athletes.
Zak was invited to the Sportsability Festival for KS2 children at the Sunderland Tennis Centre on 3.11.16. He enjoyed participating in a variety of sports: tennis, football, athletics and gymnastics.
Junior Great North Run
What an amazing day of racing! Children in year 5 and 6 competed in the 4km run around the quayside in Newcastle. It was great to see children competing and achieving their goals. Final times:
A target to beat next year! Keep working hard and your results will show for it.
