It is very rare for our school to close. Sometimes, however, in certain situations e.g industrial action, we have to assess risks to make sure the children are safe. We will do everything we can to provide advance information for parents to help them to make arrangements for that day.
There have been occasions many years ago when we had emergency closures due to gas leaks. This was unavoidable, and we find, in these circumstances parents are very supportive of the school.
At Seaburn Dene Primary School we love snow. It is exciting and perfect to enjoy and explore. As so many staff live within walking distance of the school, it is very unlikely that snow will ever close us down. Staff who live a little further away may be a little late but will do everything they can to be in school to teach you. However, if it's deep snow, be prepared with suitable clothing to have a fantastic lunchtime on the field with Miss Purdy and Mrs Crossley. Both cannot resist making the most of any Winter Wonderland!
