P.E and SPORTS GRANT

2013-14

In 2013 the Government announced that additional funding for sports would be paid directly into each primary school budget. This was a legacy from London 2012 and has been very welcomed by primary schools as a means by which we can improve P.E teaching by using professional coaches and specialist teachers in schools. In the academic year 2013-14 we were able to offer every child 6 weeks club related to sports absolutely free and many of our children embraced this opportunity. Sports clubs during the past 18 months have included: karate, gymnastics, football, rugby, archery, fencing, netball, skipping and cheerleading.

Visitors to the website could refer to the P.E curriculum page to view the termly schedule. Below are the competitions/tournaments the school entered in 2013-14. The high level of participation resulted in the school  being awarded the School Games Gold Award in July 2014.
